Anti-Bullying and Violence Prevention

ANTI-BULLYING & VIOLENCE PREVENTION

ANTI-BULLYING / VIOLENCE PREVENTION

Violence and Bullying Prevention is a program designed to decrease bullying and violence in schools. This assembly strives to make schools safe havens and positive learning environments. It focuses on changing the idea that kids are not supposed to tell when they see or experience something wrong ("snitches get stitches"). The program helps adolescents see that they need each other for support. Kids and young adults learn that if they see someone bullying, they have the responsibility to tell an adult.

The Violence and Bullying Prevention assembly addresses inappropriate use of social media, cyber-bullying, teasing and harmful playing. The program strives to empower students, and to teach them to respect themselves and others - including the students doing the bullying. In addition, focus is placed on how education can fulfill dreams, hopes and aspirations, and how they can avoid the negative consequences of bad behavior.
